I have specialised in private client matters from the start of my career and have obtained extensive experience in estate planning, helping my clients put wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney in place and working with them to formulate long-term inheritance tax planning strategies both in a personal and business context.

I assist clients in the whole range of estate administration matters from providing a responsive and efficient service in more straightforward estates through to advising on complex estates which require consideration of aspects such as business or agricultural property relief, complex trust arrangements, post-death variations and the cross-border dimension. I regularly work alongside our litigation team in respect of claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and other contentious trust and probate work, having formerly been an Associate member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (known as ACTAPS).

As a fully accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) and a Dementia Friend in association with the Alzheimer’s Society, I often advise on issues surrounding capacity and I am regularly involved in Court of Protection applications for deputies, statutory wills, and gifting.

I recognise that everyone’s circumstances are different and I take the time to explore each client’s individual aims, priorities and concerns, in order to make (or update) lifetime arrangements that best suit the individual at hand. I provide solid technical advice to clients, explaining often complex concepts in a practical and straightforward way, while balancing the delivery of this technical advice with empathy and pragmatism to progress matters.
