William Sclater is a Civil and Commercial Litigation solicitor.

I worked in London for a number of years after qualifying in 1997, not least with a pre-eminent property and media law firm, before I moved to Winchester. From 2008 I worked with a well regarded law firm with offices on the South Coast and in the South West and recently joined Taylor Fordyce.

I have particular expertise in property related disputes including rent/service charge arrears,  dilapidations, security of tenure, forfeiture/possession, restrictive covenants, matters involving an insolvent tenant, rights of way, boundaries, trespassers, compulsory purchase matters, planning appeals and Property Chamber claims (including lease extensions,  enfranchisement and service charges).

I run cases for a wide range of clients in a wide range of courts including the Technology and Construction Court, Lands and Property Chambers, and the Chancery and Insolvency divisions of the High Court, and in County Courts across the country. I have a track record of good results and whether that be through settling matters without the need for litigation or, where the situation has demanded it, through court proceedings including at the final hearing, my clients are satisfied.
