Annual Charity Event held this year on 5 June 2016 – The famous Great Midlands Fun Run

Taylor Fordyce are proud sponsors of this hugely successful annual charity event and solicitor Paul Smith is our representative and Legal Director and adviser to the organisers of the Great Midlands Fun Run.

This year over £283,000 was raised which has been distributed to more than 200 charities and good causes chosen by those who participated in the event.  The event organisation is operated through a “not for profit” company which guarantees that every penny raised by those taking part in the event is paid to the charities without any deduction as all event expenses are met from entrance fees and the very generous donations from its business sponsors. Since the inaugural event in 2003 more than £2.3 million has now been distributed to charities throughout the UK.

Event Director, Tracey Spare said: "It's hard to comprehend where we've progressed to when you consider that only £40,000 was raised in the first year and I would like to thank fellow directors Dave Cox (Finance Director) and Paul Smith (Legal Director) for their contribution towards the continued success of the Fun Run and to the many thousands who have participated over the years and to the tens of thousands who come out each year and give their support to family and friends around the 8.5 mile course”.

Next year the event will be held on 7th June 2017 and numbers are restricted  so anyone wishing to take part next year should register their interest at  now and they will be reminded by email to apply on line from 28th January 2017.
